A. Listening–Speaking Activities (1–5)

1. Hindi Media Analysis Lab
हिंदी मीडिया विश्लेषण प्रयोगशाला

Objective / उद्देश्य: Listening comprehension, inference, tone & bias detection.

IGCSE Alignment: AO1 (R1–R4), AO2 (W1–W4), AO3 (S1–S3)

IBDP Alignment: Criteria A–D (receptive, productive, interactive, language use)

How to Conduct / कैसे कराएँ?

  1. 2–3 मिनट का Hindi news clip चलाएँ (90–120s)।
  2. विद्यार्थी पहली बार → 3 key ideas लिखें।
  3. दूसरी बार → 2 facts + 1 possible bias नोट करें।
  4. अब 150–200 शब्द का English article दें (same issue)।
  5. Both texts की 2 similarities + 2 differences लिखें।
  6. Output Choice:
    • Bilingual Summary (60–75 शब्द हिंदी + 60–75 अंग्रेज़ी)
    • 90-sec Micro Pitch (45s Hindi + 45s English)
  7. Peer Feedback: “Two Stars + One Tip”.

Expected Outcome:

Sharp listening, comparative skills, real-world text analysis.

2. Micro-Debate Arena
माइक्रो वाद-विवाद मंच

Objective / उद्देश्य: Argument structure + speaking fluency.

Steps / प्रक्रिया

  1. एक छोटा विषय दें:
    • “Should mobile phones be banned in school?”
    • “क्या सोशल मीडिया बच्चों के लिए हानिकारक है?”
  2. Participant A: 90 seconds → arguments
  3. Participant B: 60 seconds → counter-argument
  4. Audience: 3-point peer assessment (clarity, evidence, tone)

IGCSE: Organized speaking, clear points.
IBDP: Claim–counterclaim–stance (TOK style).

3. Peer Speaking Pods
सहपाठी वक्तृत्व समूह

Objective: Low-pressure speaking practice + confidence building.

Steps

  1. कक्षा को 4–5 छात्रों के छोटे समूहों में बाँटें।
  2. हर छात्र 1 मिनट बोले: “मेरी सबसे मज़ेदार गलती…” “Someone I admire…”
  3. बाकी सदस्य → 2 positive feedback साझा करें।
  4. 5 मिनट group reflection.

Outcome: Fluency, vocabulary choice, better confidence.

4. One-Minute Theatre
एक-मिनट नाट्य प्रस्तुति

Objective: Expression, voice modulation, spontaneous speaking.

Steps

  1. 60–90 सेकंड के 10 mini-scenes दें:
    • “If I were the principal for one day…”
    • “अगर मुझे समय-यात्रा का मौका मिले…”
  2. No props, only voice + emotion.
  3. Teacher scoring: clarity, tone, body language.

IGCSE: Speaking assessment preparation.
IBDP: IO oral expression skills.

5. Visual Interpretation Lab
दृश्य विश्लेषण प्रयोगशाला

Objective: Interpreting posters, ads, infographics.

Steps

  1. कक्षा में एक पोस्टर या विज्ञापन दिखाएँ।
  2. IGCSE Task: What? Why? How?
    • What is shown?
    • Why was it made?
    • How does it persuade/inform?
  3. IBDP Task:
    • Authorial choices (colour, text, framing)
    • Global issue connection
  4. Group Presentation: 2 mins per group.

Outcome: Visual literacy + critical interpretation.

B. Reading & Analysis Activities (6–10)

6. Comparative Texts Lab
तुलनात्मक पाठ प्रयोगशाला

Objective / उद्देश्य: Text comparison, translation-awareness, tone analysis.

IGCSE: AO1 inference + AO2 summary

IBDP: Paper 1 comparative thinking

Steps / प्रक्रिया

  1. एक ही मुद्दे पर 2 छोटे texts दें — एक हिंदी में, एक अंग्रेज़ी में (150–180 words each)।
  2. Students highlight:
    • Main idea (मुख्य विचार)
    • Purpose (उद्देश्य)
    • Tone (भाव/attitude)
    • Word choice differences
  3. 2 similarities + 2 differences लिखें।
  4. Discussion: “Translation में क्या बदल गया?”

Outcome: language structure awareness, deeper comprehension.

7. Text Transformation Studio
पाठ रूपांतरण स्टूडियो

Objective: Adaptation skills, register control, tone shift.

Task Types

  • IGCSE: Summary → Note-making → Report
  • IBDP: Perspective shift (victim vs reporter, student vs parent)

Steps

  1. एक news paragraph दें (120–150 words)।
  2. IGCSE: इसे 40–60 word summary बनाएं।
  3. IBDP: इसे दो अलग-अलग voices में लिखें:
    • Formal report voice
    • Personal reflection voice
  4. Compare: vocabulary + tone + audience.

Outcome: deeper understanding of genre + purpose + tone.

8. Bias & Perspective Hunt
पक्षपात एवं दृष्टिकोण खोज

Objective: Critical reading, identifying bias, fact–opinion separation.

Steps

  1. दो articles दें — एक supportive, एक critical.
  2. Students label sentences:
    • Fact
    • Opinion
    • Loaded language
  3. Bias check:
    • Whose voice is missing?
    • What assumptions are made?
  4. Write 60–80 word “bias summary”.

9. Fast Facts Extraction
त्वरित तथ्य-संग्रह

Objective: Speed reading + essential detail extraction.

Steps

  1. 150–180 word factual text दें।
  2. Timer: 60 seconds
  3. Students extract exactly:
    • 5 important facts
    • 2 supporting examples
    • 1 inference (छिपा हुआ अर्थ)
  4. Peer-check → strike inaccuracies.

Outcome: fast AO1 reading mastery.

10. Literary–Nonliterary Fusion Analysis
साहित्यिक–गैर-साहित्यिक संयुक्त विश्लेषण

Objective: Multi-text comparison, theme analysis, technique recognition.

Resources

  • 1 कविता (poem)
  • 1 विज्ञापन (advertisement)
  • 1 लघु लेख (short non-fiction)
  • सभी का theme — जैसे “स्वच्छता / Cleanliness”

Steps

  1. तीनों texts पढ़ें।
  2. Identify:
    • Purpose / उद्देश्य
    • Techniques (चित्रात्मकता, slogans, stats)
    • Audience
    • Emotional impact
  3. Students write 120–160 word fusion analysis.

C. Writing Activities (11–15)

11. Flash Writing Café
त्वरित लेखन कैफ़े

Objective / उद्देश्य: Spontaneous writing, fluency, clarity.

IGCSE: Directed Writing + Composition
IBDP: Criterion B (productive writing)

Steps / प्रक्रिया

  1. 10-minute timer सेट करें।
  2. Students choose ONE prompt:
    • 50-word micro-story
    • 1 scene का 3-वाक्य वर्णन
    • 80–100 word opinion capsule
  3. Peer-review in 2 minutes (clarity, coherence, correctness).

Outcome: तेज़ लेखन क्षमता, focused content creation.

12. Perspective Flip Writing
दृष्टिकोण-विपर्यय लेखन

Objective: voice control, empathy, narrative shift.

Task / कार्य

Students rewrite ONE event from two different perspectives:

  • Example event: “The school bus arrives late.”
  • Perspective A: student’s voice (अनुभवात्मक)
  • Perspective B: driver’s voice (तथ्यात्मक)

Steps

  1. Event समझाएँ।
  2. दोनों perspectives के लिए tone चुनें— formal / informal / frustrated / calm.
  3. Write 70–90 words each.
  4. IBDP Extra: add 40-word stylistic justification — “Why this tone?” “Why this structure?”

Outcome: intentional writing, tone mapping.

13. Editorial Capsule Writing
कैप्सूल संपादकीय लेखन

Objective: argumentative clarity, logical structure.

Task Length: 120–150 words

Steps

  1. Give a current issue topic: “Is social media harming young minds?” “क्या AI शिक्षा को बदल रहा है?”
  2. Students structure:
    • 1-sentence main claim
    • 2 supporting arguments
    • 1 counterpoint
    • 1 concluding insight

IGCSE: Opinion writing
IBDP: Criterion B (organization + ideas)

14. Chain Story Factory
श्रृंखला–कहानी निर्माण

Objective: creative story-building, coherence, vocabulary expansion.

Resources

  • 6 related pictures
  • 10 mandatory words (key vocabulary)

Steps

  1. Pics को सही क्रम में लगाएँ।
  2. Students must use all 10 words.
  3. Write 120–150 word story.
  4. Check: logical sequence + natural transitions.

Outcome: narrative structure mastery.

15. Evidence-based Paragraph Writing
प्रमाण-आधारित अनुच्छेद लेखन

Objective: analytical writing, academic structure.

Format used: Claim → Example → Explanation → Impact

Objective / उद्देश्य: cultural comparison, global awareness, analytical thinking.

Steps / प्रक्रिया

  1. Topic चुनें:
    • Festivals
    • Food habits
    • Public behavior
    • Family structure
  2. India vs One Other Country की तुलना करें।
  3. Students collect:
    • 3 similarities
    • 3 differences
    • 1 stereotype to challenge
  4. Output: 2–3 minute video OR 160-word article.

IBDP: Perfect for “Global Issues” alignment.

17. Festival Reinterpretation Task
त्योहार पुनर्व्याख्या कार्य

Objective: explaining Indian culture to a global audience.

Steps

  1. Festival चुनें:
    • Diwali
    • Holi
    • Eid
    • Pongal / Navroz / Onam
  2. Explain in bilingual form:
    • Meaning
    • Symbolism
    • Modern relevance
  3. IGCSE: 120–150 word article
    IBDP: “How would you explain this festival to a non-Indian?” (200 words)

20. Student-as-Teacher Capsule
विद्यार्थी शिक्षक–अभियान

Objective: metacognition, mastery through teaching.

Steps

  1. Students choose ONE topic:
    • मुहावरे
    • अनुच्छेद लेखन
    • व्याकरण
    • text analysis
  2. Prepare a 3-minute micro lesson.
  3. Teach it to a group.
  4. Peer feedback — two strengths, one suggestion.
